Canal & Narrowboat Boats Sales & Brokerages

We list specialist canal boat brokers and shared ownership schemes. We give the main location though not all boats for sale will be at that location. Also most boatyards and marinas have second hand narrow boats and cruisers for sale, so check our boatyards page for additional vendors. In shared ownership (boatshare) schemes each boat has a number of owners (often 12) who will pay a share of the maintenance and other running costs and get a number of weeks a year sole use of the boat.

All boats need a valid Boat Safety Certificate which is a check that the engine and fittings in the boat have been safely installed. However it does not mean that the boat is in good condition, you should always get a professional survey done on any boat you are thinking about buying.

Boat prices range from a few thousand pounds for a fibre-glass cruiser or ex hire steel narrowboat, to well over one hundred thousand pounds for a fully fitted out full length narrowboat from a famous builder.
