Booked a boat for half a day as part of a birthday treat for 8 – mix of adults and children and we all enjoyed the afternoon. A very relaxing and tranquil experience. Kitchen and toilet on the boat so we could make some lunch. A very lovely afternoon and great stop offs.

Had an amazing time, phoned on the day spoke to Paul I think and got booked on to the comet boat, was greeted by Lizzy who was great. As a party of 7 including a wheel chair user we had a lovely time! Lizzy was kind enough to give us an extra half hour for agreed price. Would definitely recommend!

Well, what can I say? If you’re looking for a top-notch boating experience on the Norfolk Broads, look no further than Martham Ferry Boat Hire. These folks have absolutely nailed it. Clear directions on their website, prompt email communication and parking on site!
First off, let’s talk about the boats—clean as a whistle and unquestionably reliable. Ours even had a toilet on board, which, let’s be honest, is a bit of a game-changer when you’re out on the water. No awkward pit stops or frantic paddling back to shore.
The service? Professional to the core, yet wonderfully accommodating. The team there gave us the most thorough and comprehensive instructions I’ve ever had the pleasure of receiving. They’ve clearly got the whole “setting you up for success” thing down to an art form. And if you’re worried about getting lost, don’t be! They provide excellent maps and even throw in some stellar recommendations to boot.
Now, navigating the boat? A doddle. Seriously, even if you’ve never set foot on a boat before, you’ll be cruising along with confidence in no time. The folks at Martham seem to be very proud of their boats and their service—and rightly so. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into what they do.
We had a 7 hour experience in the apologies, 8of us with our dog and 3 pub stops on the way. Mooring is tricky but we welcomed the challenge after all that easy sailing.
All very reasonably priced for the quality of the experience. So, if you’re in the mood for a bit of nautical adventure or a broad based therapeutic experience then this is the one 👍🏽

Absolutely loved our morning out on the Norfolk Broads, relaxing peaceful boating in our ‘Orbit 2’ electric powered boat, so nice to be gliding along silently listening to nature around us and not disturbing it. The staff at the boat yard were very accommodating and helpful we were underway after a short demonstration of the workings of the boat and discussion of our route and safety. Lovely to cruise with our two doggies.

Did a half day hire in one of the rocket boats with our 5 small dogs. Thoroughly enjoyed driving the boat, it was very quiet, had a little hob, kettle, toilet, dogs were kitted out with life jackets and so much wildlife to see. We didn’t moor anywhere on this trip but next time would do a day’s hire and stop off for lunch somewhere.
Really friendly staff, great communication, highly recommend them.
