Fantastic service friendly staff and they were very helpful, stopped for a pump out and water top up. The staff knew what they were doing without any fuss. On site shop which sells all you need for on the go repairs and Ice Creams 🍦. Would definitely use again.

This was our first experience on a narrow boat, and we had a great time. We took out a day boat and the staff were wonderful, made it really easy to learn how to operate the boat and the boat was very clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend Lyons Boatyard.

What can I say, we hired Oakwood from Lyons Boatyard (Warwickshire Narrowboat Hire) and it was absolutely fabulous! The boat’s fit out was top-notch, but the real surprise for me was the toilet and shower—it was like being in a hotel!

We hired the boat for a week and traveled to Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick, tackling a total of 118 locks. The views were stunning, the journey was amazing, and the pubs and people we encountered along the way were superb. It truly was a fantastic holiday for the four of us on the trip, though we were pretty tired after handling all those locks!

We did hit a little snag on the last day when the water pump failed. These things happen and can’t be predicted. All you can hope for in such situations is a quick fix, and they totally delivered. Within an hour, the team was there, and they replaced the pump in no time.

Their service was fantastic from start to finish. If you’re thinking about a narrowboat holiday, I can’t recommend this company enough! Go for it!

I parked my camper van within the secure confines of the boat yard. The boat yard had everything I needed to make my stay feel comfortable. The people who either moored up or parked up were respectful and at the same time helpful and knowledgeable when I needed advice (I’m a newbie to the camper van life).

Tina was a great point of contact for the boat yard, and was accommodating and friendly, as was Mike. I wish you guys all the best and a very big Thanks!

I’m leaving my old views below, however, I’ve heard on the grapevine that this yard has changed hands

With new ownership, and hopefully still managed by the lovely lady who did all the work, this yard has the potential to go far.

Below is a previous review of this business under previous ownership and in no way reflects the current owners who I would like to wish well in their new venture

Boat maintenance in Birmingham

Gotta laugh when you see that

So, before we begin, you’ll notice that all negative reviews here, get tagged as disgruntled ex moorers, so think a little, why so many disgruntled ex moorers

Now let’s begin,

It’s a 1 star rating, a little like the overnight lighting, all out bar 1, which is it could be out, would be out

Don’t worry, when you’ve seen the crazy paving attempt at a safe path in the daylight, you wouldn’t be daft enough to attempt it in the dark

Unless of course you were unfortunate enough to be resident in this non residential boat yard, but surely that wouldn’t be happening

Yes it is, but fear not, in the event of the next fire, if you make it along the path, you can die at the gate, as it will likely be blocked by the campervans that rent the escape route

But that aside, chill, you have a contract, with a specified notice period, that will be fulfilled on your side due to the deposit, but on his side just leave now please, and we’ll refund you, until you leave, and then you find out that that’s just another lie as well

But still, you don’t need to live here to enjoy the mess, done and hire happy valley, the day trip wreck, overpriced, over to Birmingham, and over to recovery for the return trip

Or if you do live here, join the fun games, such as waiting to the idiot owner is on his own before asking for your toilet pump out, so he at least gets a turn at the fun jobs himself

Shout out to Steve for coming up with that one, bet he still thinks you actually like him, lol

Fancy a cheap way to get home, buy yourself a barrel of the yards finest cherry red diesel, and run your car home on it, he won’t take the legally required details from you, so it’s fine

Unless you were previously spotted on someone’s boat cameras, then you could soon be getting famous with HMRC

But don’t worry, all the problems are currently being looked at by the relevant authorities, so shouldn’t be long now to some upcoming changes

All that said, there is one good thing to say about the balding bumbling idiot, but only that he’s not quite as bad as the mental thing he’s partnering with

Although in fairness, even that’s probably a close call

Goodbye my dear landlord, may the fleas of a thousand rats infect your life forevermore
