A lovely sunny day with the gentle purr of the electric engine accompanying the soundtrack telling us all about the history of the canal. The volunteers brought us drinks and snacks as we travelled along the waterway and answered any questions we had and assisted passengers getting in and out the boat. There is a toilet on board as well as in the car park and the wharf car park ticket machine only accepts coins in payment. Well worth a visit

Excellent trip. Very interesting and good value for money. Even though we were not there in good weather there are fold down window covers and towels provided! The additional mini tour of the boatman’s cabin was really informative. The stop at High Peak junction was just the right amount of time too for delicious ice cream.

Lovely leisurely trip on canal. Interesting to hear the history and life on the canal boat.

Rail workshop fascinating. Opportunity to feed the ducks.

Had hoped for horse drawn but sadly the old horse died.

A group from rotary Amber Valley went on a 2 hour trip on Birdswood. It was fantastic. This is a must do trip if you are in the area
