Accessible, immense thought gone into the planning of the boats and so pleased to find something I can do with my friends and not be excluded due to my wheelchair! Thank you Bruce Boats!!

Had an absolutely tremendous time on Hannah with a group of 7 other friends. I was able to contribute to the trip by piloting the boat which was an immense experience for me and one I’ll remember for the rest of my life. I would very much like to repeat the trip even though somewhat fraught at times; especially when turning the 65” boat, failing due to another boater’s irresponsible mooring and subsequently dealing with the weir at Newbury. We made it though and it really has been the trip of a lifetime for me!!

We took Bruce Boats with Steve and Chris, absolutely marvelous volunteers: competent funny and adaptable to all circumstances and coming up with solutions to every problem we encountered during our trip (including Covid!). So you are not just hiring a boat with this trip but with Bruce Boats you are going to be particulary blessed with their engineers who do boat rides because of their passion, not for the money! They were extremly enthusiastic to pass on this boat passion through training they did for all of us 9-58 yr olds in our 10-people group! They worked tirelessly and extremely focused through a week-long journey so I am greatful to them not just for a good holiday but for showing us, with patience, a way to a whole new world, canal world and canal pace, that none of us had been part of before. We all learned how to drive canal boats in the process. The Bruce Boats volunteers taught us skills & mechanics which have expanded our brains (for my children, friends and my 81 year old mother in law who came on the boat with a disabled chair because one of the boats, Rebecca is disabled friendly and very comfortable). Clearly, we will never forget this journey! Expect for this not to be just a holiday, but a new life skill!
