We enjoyed a sunny Sunday afternoon at this wonderful place. Great interiors, the natural light coming in is just perfect, a well designed and maintained garden, the moat is in a very good state. It’s not a busy place and you can spend 2-3 hours inside and outside. The place has also a place to enjoy a tea or cake. You can visit the roof terrace as well to see the surroundings.

Very pleasant castle, had an amazing time with my boyfriend. Beautiful rooms, amazing guides. Make sure to check opening times. After your visit make sure to get a cup of tea with cake.

A manor house was on the site in 1300, it was fortified in 1406. It is open Wednesday, Sunday and a few bank holidays. Well worth the effort of getting to see it, the owner was even there on the front door and he was a nice guy, happy to stop and have a chat.

Great afternoon here exploring many of the rooms. Lots of knowledgeable guides on hand to answer questions as well as plenty of information to read. Really good views of the grounds from the rooftop area. Although I didn’t try any the cakes in the cafe looked homemade and delicious.

What an amazing place. The grounds and the house were beautiful and the staff so friendly and so helpful and informative. I don’t mind paying to go into a privately owned residence as long as I get value for money and we certainly did. We even met the lady of the house Marienette, she was lovely and spent time talking to all the people she met. I must also mention the tearoom as the cakes are delicious and great value. All in all a lovely visit and would definitely come again.
