Downloadable digital image of watercolour & gouache painted reconstruction of Chauncy Townsend’s coal warehouse on a wharf at Landore of 1760. It was approached by a tunnel that may be the first built at an intermediate point on a surface railway. The line was disused by the time the Swansea Canal was built but the canal bridge Pont Lewis Bach of 1794-96 was designated for the use of any possible rebuilding of the line under the terms of the Swansea Canal’s authorising Act of Parliament.
