Ellison’s Winter

The story follows the life of Andrew Ellison, a once-successful City solicitor whose mistake landed him in prison. During his time behind bars, Andrew lost his wife and contact with his family. Upon his release, he decided to live a simpler life and purchased a boat to travel the canal system. However, his past quickly caught up with him when he moored his boat at a remote farm.

This led to his involvement with the police investigating matters that threatened national security. Andrew’s new friends were also put in danger. The novel is a gripping and realistic tale featuring diverse characters, including those with canal experience.

David Blagrove, who worked with narrow boats and the Canal Museum at StokeBruerne and wrote non-fiction books about canals and railways, authored the book. He was appointed MBE for his contributions to canal restoration.

Although Blagrove intended for this novel to be the first in a series, he never wrote any others. The book has never been published before.
