One of many collieries built on the banks of the Swansea Canal operated by a steam-engine that wound & pumped with water drained down to the waterway.

Signed A4 limited print of watercolour & gouache paint reconstruction of the Crimea Coal Pit and Wharf at Pantyffynnon in the Swansea Valley. It was sunk by colliers thrown out of work by the Swansea Canal being blocked by ice for a long period in 1853. Copyright original artwork by Stephen Hughes.
