Downloadable digital image of a gouache reconstruction of the canal-side world famous Cambrian and Glamorgan Potteries. The Swansea Canal offices lay to the right of what was a waterway constricted by the earlier pottery to a narrow single boat canal past the works. The canal crossed the earlier large reservoir constructed for the Cambrian Copperworks rolling-mills and under the terms of the Parliamentary Act for the canal all waste-water coming down the canal had to feed the reduced mill or dock for the Foundry or Pottery Mill visible in the left foreground. Cambrian & Glamorgan Potteries alongside the Swansea Canal Railways downloadable digital print
The Cambrian or Swansea Pottery produced very fine porcelain. There were 48 watermills, or more, powered by Swansea Canal water. The pre-existing potteries meant that the canal was only one boat width at this point.
