Early rack or drum locomotive designed for Swansea Canal public railways.

Framed & glazed A4 signed limited print of a gouache painted reconstruction of an 1840s Gurney-type light locomotive with a raising adhesion drum or rack cog on the Claypon’s Tramroad to the Swansea Canal. The Neath Abbey Ironworks designed this locomotive to operate on the steeply inclined tracks leading up from the Onllwyn Ironworks and Collieries. Original copyright artwork by Stephen Hughes.
